The Worldwide Authors Conspiracy is named in honor of, but is not connected to the Perth County Conspiracy, a folk band of the 1970s based in Perth County, Ontario, Canada. Perth County was at that time the locus of a group of writers, actors, musicians, artists, and artisans, who lived and worked in a loose and informal cooperative. Some really good work came from that community, which stands as an example of what can happen when talented and dedicated people band together for mutual benefit... WACKO NEWS & NOTES

WWACO is currently seeking to establish an Advisory and Editorial Review Board. Board members will serve on a voluntary basis. If you are potentially interested in serving on the Board, and have a documentable background in writing, editing, or publishing in a digital environment, please contact us.

WWACO is in the early stages of formation, and can use help from those aligned with its objectives. We can work with you worldwide via the Internet, Skype, and various software platforms for real time collaboration. (Gee, isn't that a surprise?) All we ask is a genuine commitment, not the expression of a passing fancy. If you're interested, please contact us for more information.

The Worldwide Authors Conspiracy will be expanding its operation in the first quarter 2016, and expects to more than double its membership. Now is the time to become a charter member, whether you are an author, writer, publisher, or reader. Check out the various membership designations, and join us in the world of outstanding digital content.

Whence "Wacko"? The nickname emerged partly on whimsy, but not entirely. WWACO is seeking writers and digital publishers who take their work seriously, but who do not take themselves too seriously. We feel using the nickname "Wacko" acts as a filter to discourage those without the ability to submerge ego in the cause of mutual cooperation, from applying. We also feel that using the short form "Wacko" affords some cover to help us avoid being taken seriously, and therefore minimizes the posibility of our being hampered by the big players in digital publishing... until, that is, it's too late for them to retard our growth.

The Worldwide Authors Conspiracy... is a non-profit co-operative of authors and digital publishers, dedicated to finding and sharing outstanding content on the web ...

Reader-Members receive regular, periodic notices on interesting, high-quality digital content across a broad range of topics, by some of the best, though not necessarily the best known authors publishing on the Internet. Reader-Members are able to reach that content quickly and conveniently in a click or two. In order to become an Author-Member, you need to show that you've published at least a dozen articles in either digital or print media. Self-publishing on LinkedIn, Medium, or similar platforms counts. Even if you do not qualify to become an Author-Member, you can join as a Writer-Member or Reader-Member, participate in the WWACO's growth and interact with other members, until such time as you qualify for Author-Member status...
